Our Story

The Maritime Radio Historical Society (MRHS) was established on July 12, 1999, marking the end of an era with the last commercial Morse transmission in the US. Founders Tom Horsfall and Richard Dillman discovered the intact KPH transmit and receive sites, igniting a passion to preserve the tradition of maritime Morse. With the dedication of volunteers, MRHS has successfully restored and returned historic stations like KPH, KSM, KFS, and K6KPH to the airwaves.

Impact

Through its efforts, MRHS has revived multiple historic maritime radio stations, ensuring the legacy of radiotelegraphy is honored and preserved for future generations.
