Our Story
In 1871, Dr. John Huston commissioned the Marietta Community House, originally built as a private residence. After changing hands, it became a sanitarium in 1909 and was later donated to the community in 1919 by Mr. and Mrs. Henry S. Hiestand in memory of their son, Lt. Benjamin Hiestand. This historic house has been dedicated to promoting the welfare of the Marietta community for over a century.
