Our Story

Marie Wilkinson was a passionate social and civil rights activist who dedicated her life to fighting against poverty, hunger, and injustice. In the 1950s, after a life-changing experience, she founded the Aurora Food Pantry from her home, distributing food to those in need. With the help of friends and neighbors, she established a soup kitchen and food pantry that continues to serve the communities of Aurora, IL, Kane County, and beyond.
