Founded in 2013 by soprano Kathryn Frady and baritone Kevin Doherty, Marble City Opera is Knoxville's premier chamber opera company. Under the leadership of Frady since 2014, the organization has dedicated itself to presenting American Chamber Opera and innovative performances of traditional operas, engaging new audiences and fostering local talent.
With 26 fully staged productions since its inception, Marble City Opera has received acclaim for its commitment to inclusivity and representation. Notably, it was the first to produce live opera performances in the U.S. during the pandemic, showcasing the resilience and creativity of the arts community.
