Manna on Main Street

Our Story

Manna on Main Street was founded in 1981 by Reverend John Touchberry to address the unmet needs of the community, particularly in food, housing, and emergencies. Starting from a church basement, Manna has grown into a vital resource, providing food pantry services, a soup kitchen, emergency financial aid, and educational opportunities.

Impact

In the fiscal year ending 2023, Manna set records by distributing over 499,959 pounds of food and providing more than 109,096 meals to 1,648 households. Recognized with the 2023 Hunger Hero Award from Philabundance, Manna has adapted its services to meet the rising demand, especially during the pandemic.
