Our Story
Founded in 1977 by Carol Chamberlain, Manatee Children’s Services addresses the urgent need for shelter and support for abused children in Manatee County. As the only emergency shelter for child victims of abuse, MCS has expanded its services to include a Child Advocacy Center, serving over 12,000 children and families annually.
