About Lighthouse Vision Loss Education Center
Founded in 1985, the Mana-Sota Lighthouse for the Blind was established to provide essential services to blind and visually impaired individuals in Sarasota and Manatee counties. This vision became a reality through the dedication of visually impaired individuals, eye specialists, and community donors who secured funding and 501(c)(3) status. Over the years, the Lighthouse has expanded its reach to include DeSoto, Charlotte, and Highlands counties, offering innovative programs for children and young adults.
