Our Story

Malta House was founded 25 years ago when a compassionate father recognized the urgent need for a safe haven for pregnant women in Fairfield County. Many of these women faced dire circumstances, often living in unsafe conditions or with abusive partners. Through unwavering dedication and numerous miracles, Malta House opened its doors in 1998, providing food, shelter, and hope to those in need. Over the years, more than 800 mothers and their children have found refuge and a new direction in life within these walls.

Impact

Since its inception, Malta House has provided over 9,000 nights of shelter, empowering 403 mothers to rebuild their lives and welcoming 408 babies into the world.
