The Male Contraceptive Initiative (MCI) was founded in 2014 with a mission to revolutionize reproductive health by providing funding and advocacy support for the research and development of new male birth control methods. Based in the United States, MCI has become a leading force in non-hormonal, reversible male contraception research and development.

Impact of MCI

MCI has invested $14.3 million in non-hormonal research and development activities, funding 26 non-hormonal reversible male contraceptive targets and supporting 77 researchers, fellows, and interns. This commitment has led to two non-hormonal male contraceptive products currently being tested in humans.
