Our Story

Makor Chaim was founded in 1985 by Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz and Rabbi Dov Singer, who has dedicated over 38 years to nurturing a unique educational environment. This organization fosters deep connections among students, teachers, and the community, empowering students through a blend of intellectual pursuit and spiritual growth. The new campus in Gush Etzion stands as a testament to resilience, built in response to the tragedy of three young students, aiming to unite the Jewish community.

Impact

With a commitment to educational excellence, Makor Chaim has trained educators globally and influenced thousands of students. A significant percentage of graduates serve in IDF combat units, showcasing the organization's profound impact on Israeli society. Each year, over ten thousand participants engage in adult programming, furthering Jewish unity.
