Making Waves Education Foundation

Our Story

Founded in 1989 by John H. Scully and Reverend Eugene Farlough, Making Waves Education Foundation began as an after-school program in Richmond, California. Today, it has transformed into a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Making Waves Academy, a public charter school, and providing college and career programming for historically underrepresented and underserved students.

Impact

Making Waves Education Foundation has successfully supported over 430 college students, boasting an alumni network of more than 730 graduates. Remarkably, 85% of these graduates have completed their degrees debt-free, thanks to personalized coaching and financial planning.
