Making A Difference Foundation: A Legacy of Compassion

Founded in 2003 by Ahndrea L. Blue, the Making A Difference Foundation (MADF) embodies the belief that everyone has the capacity to serve and positively impact the lives of others. Initially focused on providing scholarships for higher education and funding humanitarian missions in countries like South Africa, Peru, and Haiti, MADF has evolved to meet the pressing needs of the local community in the Puget Sound region.

Inspired by her mission trip to Peru, Ahndrea launched the Joy Box Ministry, which delivers personalized care packages to individuals facing hardships. In 2009, the foundation opened Eloise’s Cooking Pot Food Bank, named after Ahndrea's grandmother, who exemplified generosity by sharing food with those in need. This food bank serves East Tacoma residents, providing fresh produce, household essentials, and even home delivery for seniors and disabled individuals.

In response to the growing crisis of homeless veterans, MADF established the Homes for Veteran program in 2012. This initiative has successfully housed 52 out of 60 veterans, with an impressive 87% sustaining their living arrangements. The foundation continues to refine this program to help veterans transition into homeownership, ensuring they receive the support they need.

With a range of dynamic programs including Eloise’s Cooking Pot Food Bank, the Nurturer Program, and the Transitions Backpack Program for the homeless, MADF focuses on delivering direct and meaningful assistance to individuals and families in need.
