Make Our Schools Safe was founded by the Alhadeff Family after the tragic loss of their daughter, Alyssa, during the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in 2018. Alyssa was a bright, energetic, and talented young girl whose life was cut short too soon. In her memory, the Alhadeff Family established this organization to ensure that no other parent has to endure such heartache.
Dedicated to promoting best practices in school safety, Make Our Schools Safe advocates for essential measures like silent panic alarms connected to law enforcement. Together, the goal is to eliminate school violence, one campus at a time.
