Make It Happen for Yolo County began in 2012 when dedicated volunteers recognized a critical gap in resources for transition age foster youth. While these young individuals had access to clothing, food, education, and shelter, they lacked the essential furnishings to create a home. Starting from a garage, the initiative grew, and in 2014, it became an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, securing financial support and a storage unit to better serve the community.
Since its inception, Make It Happen has positively impacted over 250 transition age youth in Yolo County by providing essential furniture and household goods. This support enables these young individuals to transition into independent living successfully.
