Our Story

Founded in 1988 by the City of Coronado, Coronado MainStreet Ltd. emerged to combat a 35% vacancy rate in our downtown area. Utilizing the 'Four Point Approach' from the National Main Street Center, the organization has successfully revitalized our commercial district through community consensus and engagement, transforming Coronado into a vibrant meeting place for residents and visitors alike.

For over 31 years, Coronado MainStreet has championed local businesses, ensuring the charm of our community thrives. The Coronado Currency Program has kept over $500,000 in shopping dollars circulating within our town, while annual events foster community spirit and support local enterprises.
