Maine Inside Out is a nonprofit organization based in Lewiston, Maine, dedicated to empowering youth impacted by incarceration through the transformative power of theater. Founded in 2008, MIO began its journey at Long Creek Youth Development Center, where incarcerated artists created original performances that sparked community dialogue.

Since its inception, Maine Inside Out has reached over 40,000 individuals, significantly contributing to social change and reducing the number of incarcerated youth in Maine from nearly 200 in 2008 to under 30 today.
