Empowering Immigrants in Maine

Founded in 2005, the Maine Immigrants’ Rights Coalition (MIRC) has evolved from a small group of 20 members into a robust network of over 100 organizations dedicated to the advancement of legal, social, and economic outcomes for immigrants in Maine. This diverse coalition, primarily led by people of color, collaborates with local and state legislators to advocate for policies that foster immigrant inclusion and integration.

Making a Lasting Impact

MIRC supports approximately 87,217 immigrants and refugees, including asylum seekers and undocumented individuals. By educating lawmakers and the public about the contributions of immigrants, MIRC aims to promote greater inclusion and integration through targeted policy reform and outreach initiatives.
