Empowering Indigenous Girls

MAIA is an organization led by Indigenous women, dedicated to empowering generations of young Indigenous women through a comprehensive educational model. The MAIA Impact School, launched in 2017, is Central America’s first secondary school designed specifically for Indigenous girls from rural communities, known as Girl Pioneers.

Transformative Impact

With a focus on academics, culture, socioemotional intelligence, and family engagement, MAIA has successfully transformed the lives of many young Indigenous women. Over 65 organizations and schools have benefited from MAIA's innovative, girl-focused training, promoting equity and inclusion.
