Maharashtra Mandal of Detroit was established in 1977 to serve the Marathi-speaking community in the Detroit area. What began with a few families has blossomed into a vibrant organization with over 370 member families. MMD is dedicated to preserving Marathi cultural traditions, engaging the youth, and supporting newcomers to the area through various cultural and social events.
With an average of over 1,200 attendees per event and a distribution list of over 3,000 emails, MMD has successfully organized numerous cultural events and festivals. Notably, the BMM convention in 2017 attracted 3,700 attendees, showcasing the organization's significant impact on the community.
