Our Story

Founded by Georgia Stitt, Maestra Music Inc addresses the lack of visibility and support for women and nonbinary composers in the musical theater industry. What began as informal gatherings has blossomed into a vibrant community of over 150 members in New York City and regional groups across the United States and internationally.

Impact

Maestra has built a network of over 1,000 women music professionals, offering vital resources, mentorship, and community support. Initiatives like the Maestra Directory and RISE Theatre have significantly enhanced the visibility of women and nonbinary composers.
