Our Story
Founded in the 1960s amidst a crisis, Madison Park Development Corporation (MPDC) emerged from the grassroots efforts of community activists in Lower Roxbury. These dedicated individuals fought against urban renewal programs threatening their neighborhood, leading to the establishment of the Lower Roxbury Community Corporation in 1966. This pioneering organization was among the first to develop affordable housing for low and moderate-income residents. Renamed to honor a local park that was demolished, MPDC has since developed over 500 units of affordable housing, continually working to revitalize the Roxbury community.
