The Northside Planning Council began in 1993 with city support and has evolved into one of Madison’s most effective community organizations. Serving 22,500 residents and businesses in North Madison, NPC collaborates with diverse community leaders to assess needs, develop partnerships, and lead community organizing and economic development efforts.
Over the last decade, NPC has focused on local food systems, launching initiatives like FEED Kitchens and Healthy Food For All. Major accomplishments include rescuing and redistributing van loads of food and creating over 500 jobs, generating over $12 million in business revenue for local entrepreneurs.
