Our Story

Macon Volunteer Clinic was founded in 2001 by Dr. Chapin Henley and a dedicated group of volunteers. Their mission was to create a medical home for the working uninsured residents of Bibb County. After extensive research and securing funding, the clinic opened its doors in 2003, serving nearly 100,000 patient visits and over 4,500 unique patients.

Impact

In 2023, Macon Volunteer Clinic recorded 7,202 patient encounters and provided 1,549 medical appointments, assisting with $880,212 in non-narcotic prescription medication. This demonstrates a significant impact on the health of uninsured working adults in the community.
