About the Lyme Disease Association
Founded in 1991, the Lyme Disease Association, Inc. (LDA) emerged from the collective efforts of patients and doctors who recognized the urgent need for organized initiatives to combat Lyme disease. Initially established as the Lyme Disease Association of Central Jersey, the organization has evolved to support nationwide research funding and patient assistance while remaining an all-volunteer entity.

Since its inception, the LDA has funded 127 research grants, contributing to 62 published studies in scientific journals. The organization also provides vital educational resources and organizes medical conferences to enhance understanding and treatment of Lyme disease.
