Luz Para El Futuro, Inc. was founded in 2012 by Richard and Melissa Jefferson with a mission to provide education to marginalized children living in impoverished neighborhoods in Guatemala City. Many of these children reside near a garbage dump, where their families struggle to survive on just $1-$2 a day. With approximately 11,000 children in this area, the organization focuses on offering English language programs and essential educational skills to help break the cycle of generational poverty.
