About Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida

Founded in 1979 by a coalition of Lutheran churches and community leaders in Jacksonville, Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida has been a beacon of hope for those in need. The organization began with the Nourishment Network, a food pantry that has provided sustenance to hundreds of thousands of food-insecure families for over 40 years. Over the years, LSSNEFL has expanded its services to include refugee resettlement, mental health support for individuals living with HIV/AIDS, and financial coaching through the Steps 2 Success program.

Impact in the Community

In 2023 alone, Lutheran Social Services served 44,938 individuals, including 40,721 food-insecure individuals and 2,542 refugees. The organization has made significant strides in providing essential services that stabilize lives and foster independence.
