Our Story
Lumpkin Campground, established in 1830, emerged from the Second Great Awakening, a pivotal Protestant movement. Forty dedicated men from the Lumpkin County community pooled their resources to acquire 40 acres of land, creating a sacred space for Methodist congregations. This historic campground features an open-air pavilion and rustic cabins, known as 'tents', and has been a gathering place for generations, celebrating traditions of singing and preaching.
