Our Story

Lumos Foundation, co-founded by J.K. Rowling in 2005, is dedicated to ending the systematic institutionalization of children globally. Starting in Moldova, the organization has expanded its reach to various countries, promoting community-based solutions that prioritize keeping children in loving homes.

Impact

Since 2009, Lumos has successfully prevented over 20,915 children from entering harmful institutions, redirecting more than €300 million from orphanages to community-based services.
