In September 2018, Ben and Carrie Hay faced the unimaginable loss of their 17-month-old daughter, Luella, due to an aggressive form of bacterial pneumonia. This heartbreaking experience led them to a grief retreat center, inspiring the creation of Luella's Lodge in East-Central Illinois. This sanctuary honors Luella's memory by offering a safe space for bereaved families to heal through holistic therapies and community connection.
