Our Story

Lubbock Meals on Wheels, Inc. began in 1971 with a dedicated group of board members, staff, and volunteers. Initially serving just 29 recipients, the organization has grown significantly over the years. In 1991, a building was purchased, followed by the addition of a kitchen and volunteer center in 1997. Today, Lubbock Meals on Wheels delivers over 1,000 meals each day, ensuring that homebound individuals receive not only nourishment but also companionship through volunteer interactions.

Impact

With the support of over 1,600 volunteers, Lubbock Meals on Wheels serves more than 1,000 meals daily and 600 meals on weekends. The organization also provides breakfast meals, pet food, and emergency meals, helping clients maintain their independence and stay connected to their community.
