Our Story
Founded in December 1984 by Graham Layton and Zaka Rahmatulla, the Layton Rahmatulla Benevolent Trust (LRBT) was established with a noble vision: to provide free eye treatment to the poor and underprivileged citizens of Pakistan. Since its inception, LRBT has treated over 55 million patients through a network of 19 hospitals and 51 primary eye care clinics.
Impact
As the largest provider of free eye care in Pakistan, LRBT ensures that virtually all Pakistanis are within three hours of a treatment facility. The organization’s efficient system allows the majority of patients to be seen, diagnosed, and treated on the same day, significantly improving their quality of life.
