Our Story

The Rio Grande Valley Trauma Regional Advisory Council was established in 1995 to address trauma system development and care in the region. This collaborative effort involves local citizens and healthcare entities across Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, and Willacy counties, focusing on improving trauma care through education and outreach.

Impact

With the successful designation of 12 trauma facilities, the council enhances communication and coordination between pre-hospital providers and hospitals, significantly improving patient outcomes in trauma situations.
