Our Story

The Rev. John von Hemert, while serving at St. James Episcopal Church in 1992, recognized the urgent needs of neighbors struggling to afford basic daily necessities. His vision to assist a few families blossomed into the Louisa County Resource Council, now a vital nonprofit serving thousands in the community.

Impact

Today, over 1,300 families, approximately 4,000 individuals, depend on LCRC for healthy groceries and essential services. Our clients include children, working adults, retirees, veterans, and the disabled, all of whom find support through our six food programs.
