Transforming Lives and Communities
The Los Angeles Conservation Corps, founded in 1985 by former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Mickey Kantor, is dedicated to providing jobs, education, and hope to young people from under-resourced communities. Inspired by the Civilian Conservation Corps, this organization has engaged thousands of young adults in meaningful work and educational opportunities, fostering a positive direction in life.
Impacting the Environment
This year alone, Corpsmembers transformed 52,488 lbs of food waste into compost and planted over 8,760 trees, significantly contributing to climate and community resiliency. Additionally, over 95,340 lbs of beverage containers were recycled, saving energy and diverting tons of litter from landfills.
