Our Story

Founded in 1997 by Michael Colonnese and Robin Greene, Longleaf Press began as a college-run literary press at Methodist University. Initially focused on Southern writers, it has since expanded its mission to include diverse voices from across the nation and beyond. Under the leadership of Shannon Ward since 2020, Longleaf Press has transitioned into an independent literary press with aspirations of national and international reach.

Impact

Longleaf Press is dedicated to publishing poetry and prose of exceptional literary merit, enriching the literary community and providing a platform for both established and emerging authors.
