Founded by Steve and Debbie Nowinski, Long Beach Junior Crew (LBJC) revitalized junior rowing in Long Beach after the 1984 Olympics. With roots dating back to 1932, LBJC promotes rowing as a recreational and competitive sport, providing a positive after-school activity for youth, especially those from low-income areas.
LBJC has produced numerous champions, including national titleholders and international competitors. Serving over 100 young athletes, the organization offers scholarships and opportunities for at-risk youth, fostering both athletic and personal growth.
