Our Story

LOLA - Local Opera Local Artists is dedicated to creating innovative, high-quality artistic experiences that break down barriers to the operatic art form. By bringing artists and communities together, LOLA cultivates the future of opera through unique performances in bars, parks, and small theaters across Austin. The organization is committed to ensuring that 70% of its cast and crew are female-identifying and/or from historically underrepresented communities, including Latinx, Black, and queer artists.

Impact

In 2022, LOLA reached over 1,000 individuals through engaging programming at venues like Waterloo Park and Mozarts, fostering a diverse audience that includes families and members of the LGBTQIA and BIPOC communities.
