Loisann’s Hope House
EIN: 52-1419314 · Fredericksburg, VA
Our Story
Loisann’s Hope House, the Fredericksburg region’s oldest and largest family homeless shelter, was founded in 1987 after a homeless man was discovered sleeping in a church foyer. This compassionate response led to the purchase and renovation of a house to serve as a shelter, which has since expanded to accommodate more families. Named in honor of Loisann Silver Chacon, a dedicated social worker, the organization continues to provide vital support to those in need.
Impact
Last year, Loisann’s Hope House served 398 clients, including 230 children, and expanded its facilities to house 19 families in need of emergency shelter.
