Our Story
The Locust Valley Library was founded on October 17, 1909, by local residents with a $300 contribution from the Matinecock Neighborhood Association. Initially located in a two-room cottage, the library has evolved significantly, moving to its current location built in 1914. Over the years, it has served as a community center, undergoing renovations to enhance services, including the addition of a computer center and a larger children's library area.
