Our Story

Local Theater Company made its debut with a sold-out production at Chautauqua Auditorium featuring Academy Award® nominee John Lithgow. This historic event marked the first theater performance at Chautauqua in over four decades. Since then, the company has presented numerous world premieres, including acclaimed works such as Body of Work by Eve Ensler and The Firestorm by Meridith Friedman. Over the past eleven years, the company has significantly expanded its programs, including the annual Local Lab New Play Festival, which nurtures the development of new American plays. Many of these works have received critical acclaim off-Broadway and across the nation.
