Founded in 2009, Local Food Hub collaborates with Virginia farmers to enhance community access to local food. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization pivoted its focus to nonprofit programs, establishing the area’s first contactless farmers market and expanding food access initiatives.
In 2023, Local Food Hub delivered 8,000 shares of local produce to households enrolled in the Fresh Farmacy program, investing over $330,000 in local foods and ensuring farmers receive a reliable income.
