Our Story
The LMC Legacy Foundation was born from the courageous choice of young Mennonite men during World War II to serve their country through Civilian Public Service. Their experiences in State Mental Hospitals revealed the inhumane treatment of individuals with mental illness, igniting a passion for advocacy. This led to the establishment of the Philhaven project in 1944, a pioneering initiative in mental health care. Today, the foundation continues to champion hope, healing, and wholeness through integrative behavioral healthcare resources, focusing on mental health and resilience.
