Our Story

LiveSafe Resources has a rich history serving the citizens of Cobb, Cherokee, and Paulding counties since 1917. Originally chartered as the YWCA of Northwest Georgia, the organization has evolved through decades of service, from supporting soldiers during the World Wars to engaging in the Civil Rights movement. In 1978, it opened Georgia's first emergency shelter for domestic violence victims, and in 2007, it refocused entirely on domestic violence and sexual assault services, rebranding as LiveSafe Resources in 2017.

LiveSafe Resources provides critical support to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, including emergency shelter, transitional housing, and advocacy. The organization has seen a significant increase in clients during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting its vital role in the community.
