Litter Legion

Our Story

Founded in June 2020 by Catie Savage, Litter Legion emerged from a community's need to combat litter in New York City. After witnessing the effects of budget cuts on sanitation services, Catie mobilized local residents to restore their streets, sort recyclables, and maintain public spaces.

Our Impact

Since its inception, Litter Legion has successfully removed over 12,516 lbs of litter and diverted 1,622 lbs of recyclables from landfills, engaging 1,689 volunteers in 117 community cleanup events.
