Empowering Literacy in North Quabbin

Literacy Volunteers of Orange/Athol (LVOA) has been dedicated to transforming lives through literacy since 1975. This nonprofit organization provides free, private, and confidential tutoring to adults and youth aged 16 and older in the North Quabbin region. With the help of professionally trained volunteer tutors, students receive personalized instruction in basic reading, writing, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). The learning experience is tailored to each individual's pace and style, ensuring effective skill development.

Making a Difference

With nearly 90 million adults in the U.S. struggling with literacy, LVOA plays a crucial role in addressing this challenge. In Athol alone, many individuals lack the necessary skills to navigate daily life, highlighting the urgent need for accessible education.
