Our Story

Founded in 1989 by two passionate women, Literacy Lubbock has dedicated itself to teaching reading skills to anyone eager to learn. Over the years, the organization has expanded its mission to provide comprehensive support through classes, tutoring, and resources in Adult Basic Education, GED Test Preparation, and English as a Second Language. Additionally, the Family and Childhood Literacy program promotes the importance of reading by distributing free books and educating parents on reading to their children.

Impact

In 2023, Literacy Lubbock made a significant impact by serving 389 students, distributing over 10,243 books, and facilitating 170 GED tests.
