Our Story

Listening House began in a church basement in 1983, founded by a compassionate parishioner who recognized the needs of the community. Over the years, it has transformed into a vital daytime shelter for individuals facing homelessness, deep poverty, and loneliness. The organization has expanded its services and locations, including the recent opening of Freedom House during the COVID-19 pandemic, and has moved to a new, fully-owned building in St. Paul.

Impact

Last year, over 4,873 individuals sought support through Listening House, receiving essential services that provide safety, comfort, and connection to vital resources.
