Our Story

Linked2Literacy began with a profound belief in the healing power of books. Founded by Kathleen Ousey, the journey started with book drives for children in foster care and hospitals. Her passion for providing comfort through quality literature led to the creation of a nonprofit dedicated to closing the literacy gap. In partnership with Kimberly Fix, they launched a campaign delivering backpacks filled with books to over 500 children in foster care, ultimately leading to the incorporation of Linked2Literacy in 2022.

Impacting Our Community

Linked2Literacy is transforming lives by distributing thousands of books and running impactful programs like the Book Bridge Program and EMPOWERME packs for kids in foster care. Through events like WORDSTOCK, thousands have engaged with essential literacy skills. Collaborations with organizations such as DPIL, Teammates, and Lincoln Public Schools amplify our reach, ensuring children have the resources they need to thrive.
