Our Story

Founded in 1971, Link Counseling Center emerged from the collective efforts of the Atlanta community to address the pressing emotional and mental health needs of individuals and families. Recognizing that many could not afford essential mental health services, a dedicated group of citizens in Sandy Springs, led by Gene Steinmann, established this vital resource. As one of the first family counseling centers in the nation, The Link has become a beacon of hope, with its staff recognized as pioneers in marriage and family therapy and experiential psychotherapy.

Impact

Each year, The Link provides over 14,000 hours of mental health services, reaching 4,000 children, youth, and adults in need. With a commitment to community well-being, the center has delivered $600,000 in pro bono mental health services.
