Our Story
Founded in 1967 by the United Churches of Christ, Lincoln-Westmoreland Housing emerged from a collaborative effort between Lincoln Congregational Temple and Westmoreland Congregational Church. This partnership aimed to address the urgent need for affordable housing in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, D.C., which was facing significant decline. Over the past 50 years, Lincoln-Westmoreland Housing has dedicated itself to the creation and preservation of quality affordable housing, ensuring that low- and middle-income families have a safe and stable place to call home.
